We’ve worked with schools around the area for years doing school and sports physicals. Bring in your paperwork and eyeglasses if you wear them!

Early detection and treatment of diabetes is crucial to keep people with diabetes healthy. It will enable us to reduce the risk of serious complications such as premature heart disease and stroke, blindness, limb amputations, and kidney failure.

Echocardiogram & Ultrasound

During specific times of the month, we provide echo cardiograms and ultrasounds to be done in house.

DMV Physicals

If you are needing clearance for special driving permits we are able to see you and have looked over by a doctor on staff. Just bring your paperwork!

Complete Physicals

All of our doctors are able to do a complete physicals for preventative care or if you work requires it. It includes blood work, a full exam by a doctor.

Meet our Team

Our highly knowledgeable, experienced and passionate physicians put the patient’s well-being above their own self-interests. We will help you admit your health issues, discover your treatment options, and follow the medication schedules.




Dr. David J. Orringer is an urgent care physician with more than 20 years of experience. Llicensed to practice in California and Arizona. Dr. Orringer graduated from Dartmouth College and completed a Masters degree in Marine Biology in Rhode Island before attending medical school through the U.S. Air Force. He trained in surgery before his assignment as Medical Director for Combat Search and Rescue in Tucson, AZ. Dr. Orringer completed a Masters of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has extensive experience in urgent care, preventive medicine and occupational medicine.



Brianna is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2020. She received her Bachelor’s in biology from CSU Long Beach in 2015. Brianna was born and raised in Redondo Beach and enjoys swimming in the ocean, scuba diving, hiking, and snowboarding.

Dr. Smith, Ocean Medical’s founder and owner, received his bachelors’ degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 1983. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Davis, in 1988. Dr. Smith also completed his internship and residency in family medicine at Long Beach Memorial Hospital. Dr. Smith enjoys camping, water sports, and volunteering for organizations that need a doctor for special events or trips.

Regina is a Board Certified Physician Assistant who received her degree from Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 1990. She has been a provider to the South Bay for over 15 years.

What do I need to bring?

If you are a new patient, please bring your ID, Insurance Card, and new patient paperwork. We will also have new patient paperwork available when you arrive at the office.

What insurance do you take?

We accept most PPO insurances and Medicare. If you are unsure if your insurance falls in these categories don’t hesitate to give us a call.

What if I don’t have insurance?

We are happy to accept you as a cash patient.

Do I have to make an appointment?

While it is recommended, we do not require you to make an appointment to be seen by our doctors. We accept walk-in patients starting at 8AM till 8PM Monday through Thursday, 8AM till 6PM on Friday and 9AM till 3PM Saturday and Sunday. School and DMV physicals are walk-in only.

How do I make, reschedule or cancel my appointment?

We schedule appointments for Monday through Friday visits. Saturdays and Sundays are walk-in basis only. If you’d like to cancel or reschedule your appointment please call 24 hours in advance or a $30 fee will be charged.
